The Sacramento Reclamation District 1000 Board of Trustees appointed Debra Jones to the Board of Trustees on April 8, 2016.

 

Debra is the founder and principal of Noakro Consult LLC (www.noakro.net) a company that provides local government coordination services, transit and transportation planning, and Federal and State environmental review and compliance.

 

As a transportation and environmental professional with 30 years of professional experience in both public and private sectors, Debra’s expertise includes managing and providing technical assistance for large, complex, multi-phase projects includingtransportation and transit planning, Federal and State environmental regulatory compliance, and project management.

 

During her career, Debra has also served in senior level planning positions for several transit agencies, including the Sacramento Regional Transit District, the Alameda - Contra Costa Transit District, and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency. She has over 15 years of experience in developing and implementing new transit services in the San Francisco Bay Area and the Sacramento region and has also coordinated ground transportation services for the San Francisco International Airport.  She has also served as the Manager of Capital Programs for the Sacramento Area Council of Governments, and as an Environmental Protection Specialist with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA).

 

A committed volunteer, Debra has served on the Sacramento County’s Natomas Community Planning Advisory Council (CPAC),on the Board of the Natomas Community Association, and as a Planning Commissioner on the City of Sacramento Planning Commission.

 

Her educational credentials include a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, and in Urban Studies from San Francisco State University and a Master of Science degree in Transportation Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley.

 

Debra and her husband moved to Natomas from the San Francisco Bay Area in 1991, with their two children.  They now have three grandchildren.
