Reclamation District 1000 (RD1000) is a local public agency established in 1911. The District is governed by a seven-member Board of Trustees elected by property owners in the District. The purpose of Reclamation District 1000 and the Board of Trustees is to serve the people of the Natomas Basin. The ultimate goal is to protect the lives and properties of those who live, work, and farm within the basin. Public safety is the District’s priority which includes:
• Operation of and maintenance of the levees, canals, drainage ditches and pump stations.
• Patrolling and monitoring the levees during flood events.
• First responders during a flood emergency
