Flood Operations Specialists I/II
Our Flood Operations Staff members are responsible for the day-to-day operation, inspection, maintenance, and monitoring of Reclamation District 1000's flood control and drainage infrastructure. Working year-round, they help ensure the reliable performance of levees, canals, pump stations, and related facilities that protect the Natomas Basin from flooding. Their duties include routine system inspections, emergency response during storm events, vegetation and facility maintenance, equipment operation, and coordination with engineering and management staff to support the District's flood protection mission. Through their dedication, technical expertise, and commitment to public safety, the Flood Operations team plays a vital role in safeguarding the communities, agricultural lands, and critical infrastructure within the District.
