SACRAMENTO - Reclamation District No. 1000, a local flood control and levee maintaining public agency, has opened their call for nominations to fill three Parcel Seats (a four-year term) on the Board of Trustees to be elected or appointed this year on November 5, 2019.
Beginning July 9, qualified persons (property owners residing in the district) may obtain nomination petition materials by visiting the district’s office at 1633 Garden Highway, Sacramento, CA 95833. Nomination Petitions must be filed with the District Secretary by 5:00 pm on September 13, 2019. Parcel Seats will be filled by election on November 5, 2019 or by appointment if not more than three qualified persons file proper nominating petitions.
Reclamation District 1000’s Board consists of 7 trustees who are elected or appointed every two years on a rotating basis (three parcel seats, then four assessment seats) by land/property owners in the district. The Board serves as the governing body of the district, setting operational priorities, formulating policy on district issues, developing and approving strategic goals and objectives and contributing toward overall district planning and oversight.
